The Leafs played better than they did in New York offensively, but also gave up quite a bit. They deserved more than two goals, but certainly earned the five they allowed.
Also, this is a petty complaint on my part, but the Sportsnet crew spent way too much time talking up Alex Ovechkin and not nearly enough time describing the play as it happened. It makes me happy that Ovechkin broke Gordie Howe’s record a few days later, not only during a non-national game, but one taking place on TSN in Winnipeg.
