Alex Ovechkin put on a stunning offensive performance, and the Canucks essentially played the reverse of their game in Vegas. The game was pretty even territorially but the Canucks were too sloppy both attacking and defending the rush and got caved.
Again, let’s get right into the numbers.
For those of you that don’t subscribe though, I want you to appreciate that Alex Ovechkin had 8 scoring chances on his own in this game at 5v5, which is a record in my own tracking. It’s not often a player gets a two-goal game at 5v5 that comes full value.
