The Canucks were way outplayed, but came through with defensive performance in the third period that was adequate
Since I’m a little behind on games, I’m just going to get straight into the subscriber content. I usually like a few freebie paragraphs with the big lessons learned from any game, but I don’t know if there were any here. We all watched the same game, with the Canucks heavily out-shot, but found a way to eke out a close victory against the defending champions.
I guess if anything, it’s a reminder that anything can happen in this league. The Canucks are not a very good team, and I don’t think anybody that reads this blog would believe the opposite. The Avalanche haven’t been as strong as they were a year ago, but are still among the league’s best. Not good teams beat good teams all the time in this league. The Avs had a few chances late and weren’t able to get it done.
